MADE is a symposium and show celebrating the history of mankind as illustrated by the figurative art that is dolls. There will special speakers, programs, exhibits, appraisals, meal events, tours, and the showing of a feature film.

You are invited to join the organizers and sponsors of MADE in giving new dolls and new or gently used doll-related books to the Ronald McDonald House in Columbia, Missouri.

The Mid America Heritage Alliance is pleased to announce a special day to celebrate dolls, their creators, and their human companions.

Annually, we will honor Ludwig Greiner, who patented his "Improved Mode of Making Dolls and Other Figures" on this day in 1858. It was one of the first doll patents in America.
Join us in remembering Mr. Greiner and how these beautiful pieces of figurative art bring to life the history of mankind.
Plangonoloist is another word for Doll Collector.

Our keynote address will be on the concept of dolls as figurative art, Art brings to life the experiences, the celebrations, and the relationships of mankind throughout history. Isn't it time for dolls to be included in the pantheon of the arts?

MADE will have its own version of Antiques Roadshow featuring beloved doll expert, and certified appraiser, Connie Harrell. You may bring two dolls for appraisal and will be provided with a certificate. The appraisals are FREE! The fee is to cover the cost of the room. Friday 10:30 am to 12:30 pm CST

Many cultures view spiders as creators and storytellers. They are linked to wisdom as weavers of feminine power. You will want your own spider to symbolize your creativity. Join this FREE, come and go workshop. Friday, 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Climb on board for an amazing trip to fashion land! The State Historical Society of Missouri will host an exhibit from the Mizzou Department of Textile and Apparel Management - TRANSFORMED: Uniforms as Stories of U.S. Stephens College will open their Historic Costume Gallery and the Boone County History and Culture Center will be exhibiting "Play" which features the dolls of Mary Paxton Keeley and marionettes made by Aimee and Heinrich Leonard.

Connie Harrell, the owner of the largest Kewpie Doll Collection in the Midwest, will share the story of this doll and her artist, Rose O'Neill.
Trivia Note: Columbia, Missouri's Hickman High School is the Home of the Kewpies.

Join professional photographer, Mel Cole, as he demonstrates how to create vignettes and capture your doll friends for programs, social media, and most of all, for you. Friday, 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm CST

We love creating and playing in the world of dolls. The outfits, the accessories the displays, the furnishings, and the props. Thank goodness for 3D printers and all the amazing things they make possible. Artisan Jennifer Perski will share her creations and visions. Friday 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm CST

In the 20th century, there was a fashion revolution led by Nell Quinlan Reed. Nicole R. Johnston, Curator of the Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection at Mizzou and Alana A. Smith educator and plangonologist will introduce the life of and the fashions created by this remarkable woman.

The FIRST Mid America Doll Extravaganza welcomes vendors from throughout the region and the nation to our Doll Show! You are sure to find the doll companion of your dreams and meet talented artists!

This delightful program is presented by Alana Smith, educator and member of the Westport and Beyond Doll Friends and the Over the Rainbow Doll Club. Your imagination will soar as Alana shares her favorite dolls and their literary counterparts.

An enjoyable way to share and enjoy your doll companions is to enter them in competition. Determining the ends and outs of it can be confusing and discouraging. UFDC Director of ReAL Services Fred Patton and Region 5 Director Joel Hoy will help us navigate these uncharted waters. Saturday, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm CST

Do you have a FunkoPop? It's an affordable, relatable and playful addition to the doll world. . Who better to bring these whimsical figures to life than Angel Eschler? You won't want to miss this fun meal event.

Tales of song and dance, of creators of imaginative worlds, of artists in fabric, clay, and celluloid, and of the strong and brave are found in the Show-Me State. Photographer and presenter Mel Cole and historian Alisha Cole will be your storytellers, illustrated in dolls.

Our banquet speaker is UFDC's beloved First Vice President and Director of ReAL Services, Alfred (Fred) Patton. He will share about the truly exciting news from UFDC. Ruby Red Galleria has sent a film for us to share as we introduce and distribute our souvenir doll. Please welcome the doll MADE calls "Lillie."

Our farewell breakfast pays tribute to Columbian, Annie Fisher, a beloved cook, caterer, and businesswoman, famous for her country ham and biscuits.
